Not bad for the price (cost versus quality)

The Bristol chandelier by Hardware House, LLC model 54-4452 is a contemporary lighting fixture with a design simple enough to fit into most decors. I will outline a few of the PROS and CONS below as I step through various aspects of the product:
PACKAGNG - The packaging of the components appears to provide sufficient protection for the fixture and glass globes. While opening the box and unpacking the various pieces I found no manufacturing defects, no problems with the metal finish, no dents, no scratches, no chips, and no cracks.
ASSEMBLY - Assembly of the product is easy. I already am familiar with the process of installing a chandelier, but I did look at the included directions and they appear to be easy to follow, with enough detail so that anyone can install this unit. The most difficult part of the installation is the shortening of the chain the fixture hangs from. In order to bend links to attach the fixture to the ceiling and to remove links, I used two needle nose pliers, whose jaws I wrapped in electrical tape. This method allowed me to easily bend links to open and close them, without marring the chain. You can also buy a chain tool that you can use to bend open links and bend them back closed from your local hardware store or on the Internet. Just as a friendly reminder, before attaching the chain to the ceiling anchor, place the ceiling cover plate and nut that are used to hide the electrical box, onto the chain. This an easy step to forget when you get caught up with trying to hang the chain.
DESIGN - The chandelier has an attractive form factor. The white/alabaster glass has character and definitely becomes a focal point to the chandelier. The satin nickel finish is contemporary, and the style will complement most decorating schemes with its modern design.
QUALITY - The quality of the chandler isn't horrible, but it also isn't great. Even with trying to twist and bend the five arms that protrude from the main body, it is apparent that the chandelier lacks precision in its manufacture . This results in the tops of the globes not being quite level. If you really take a look at the unit hanging, it isn't so far out of kilter that you will think your house is leaning, but when you look at it closely you can tell something is a little off.
PRICE - This is one of the lowest priced chandeliers you will find on the market.
LIGHTING - The five 60 WATT sockets on this unit provide for a great deal of lighting. The glow from the globes is pleasant. A regular 60 WATT bulb with an A-19 base will extend up above the globes. I reccommend using compact/ceiling fan A-19 based bulbs that will remain hidden.
WARRANTY - The fixture comes with a 15 year warranty.
RECCOMENDATION - I would recommend this to anyone looking for a low cost way of updating their dining room or foyer lighting. However, with that being said, if you can afford to shell out a few bucks more, I would recommend looking for something of a little better quality. I don't regret my purchase, but there are a number of chandeliers from various manufacturers with an extremely similar design that I'm sure if I saw this next to a few of those other ones, I may have spent a little extra for a more precisely fabricated product.

Great value, easy way to update dining room

I bought this chandelier a few months ago for $83.99. What a great value! A note of caution: the instructions were amateurish - I would have appreciated more since this was my first time installing a chandelier. But a quick search online and I was able to find better instructions. It ended up taking a couple of hours to assemble and install but it was well worth the time. It looks fantastic in my dining room and the price is hard to beat.
