the ihome/lamp is very convenient to amplify your ipod mp3 etc. but please be aware the ihome/lamp DOSE NOT charge your device.

Quite Useless

I recently purchased this product and was blown away. The quality of the speaker is quite decent, the lamp is fantastic and it does not get too hot. I also found that the unit is very useful for getting organized! This fantastic lamp sells for $70 on PBteen, and only comes in two colors, but Amazon sells it for $30 and is available in many colors.
In some of the other reviews, people complained about the lamp looking cheap. I strongly disagree, in fact I think the lamp looks very handsome!! I also noticed reviews complaining the lamp didn't charge their iPod. That is true, however iHome never advertised that it would.
All in all, I think this lamp is the best thing money can buy for a desk.
Update:
Within about 2 months the lamp has completely stopped functioning. I had very high hopes for this lamp but unfortunately it has not lived up to its expectations. Quite useless after all. :(

Great for college dorm

My daughter tells me she couldn't do without it at college. She uses it all the time for the light to study and also plays her ipod through it for herself and her room mate. They are also sold at Target but they didn't have pink.
