Not bad for the money but not at all great

The light isn't bad. For the money I suppose it is not terrible, but the quality is honestly not all that great. The materials are in between cheap and quality - with one exception. The vertical post is shipped in several pieces, and the machining for where they join is very very cheap and of poor quality. For all practical purposes it is a compression fit rather than being well machined threads, and I was not happy with that part. I would not consider purchasing another one of these, but they are not bad enough to send it back. I have bought far higher quality lights for less.

Beautiful Lamp

My husband has wanted a "swing" lamp next to his chair for reading. Saw this & ordered it for him for Christmas. It is a beautiful lamp, heavy base, very well put together, love the quality lampshade! He should get many, many years of service with this. It was delivered exactly when Amazon said it would be ... box was a little worse the wear from shipping but the lamp pieces were very well packed in styrofoam so no damage whatsoever. Within about 2 minutes, we had the lamp put together!
Absolutely love the "brushed nickel" look. We also found the Quoizel table lamps that match this one, so over the next few months, we'll be replacing our 30-year-old "brass-looking" living room lamps with the brushed nickel and that way they'll all match! Good price for the quality, also.

A local retail establishment offered this exact lamp to us "on special order" for $409. Package integrity is high, but expect a few styrofoam niblets along with a batch of cardboard recycling once you unpack. The lamp arrives in a cubic box and assembles from six pieces, counting the shade. Referring to directions was unnecessary and the job took all of 10 minutes, including cleanup.
Quoizel "warrants that this product will be free of electrical defects for the lifetime of the original owner...Shipping is the responsibility of the owner." Fair enough. Physically, this lamp is solid and nicely finished. We expect many years of trouble-free service and are very happy with our purchase.
