Beautiful lamp but unstable

I was so excited when this lamp was finally assembled last weekend. It was beautiful because it looked like a palm tree with hanging branches and the lamp shades are adorable plus having 5 light bulbs really gave my dining room the jolt of light that it needed. However, after a couple of hours, this lamp came crashing down. I was horrified because I saw sparks fly and it was a close call for me because I usually sit right in the area where the lamp fell to work on my computer. Thankfully my table arrangements broke the fall and nothing was damaged. I am returning this item now even though I am really sad that I won't have this beautiful lamp in my dining room, but I want to be sure that this incident doesn't happen again, it could be very dangerous. I am very happy with Amazon's response afte I reported this incident, so the only reason why I have given this lamp a 3 star is the inherent flaw in the design that could be dangerous if it topples on top of people.

looks more beautiful in person

Incredible light. Received the first box, a LOT of styrofoam, one of the electrice cords was not working, Amazon is fantastic to work with, they shipped another and I had 30 days to return the old with no charges. Amazon has the best return policy and they are the most freindly folks on the planet.
Anyway back to the light. It is room filling, I placed 5 60 watt incadesents and it is the focal point of a very large arched ceiling California ranch living room.
The shades are the best looking part. Very finely made of a fabric that will not be a dust magnet, I can see they easily wipe clean if needed.
Do not be concerned about other people stating the light is unstable. It is very stable unless you have small children reaming on it. But no light is safe then.
This same light is $550 in retail furniture stores. I fall back in love with this light every time I look at it. Rock on Lite Source and Amazon !
